How Do You Ventilate Work Boots? (4 Ways)

The least you can try is punching some holes on the uppers of the boots with nails!

That sounds hilarious right?

Oh that actually is hilarious and not at all worth given a second thought!

Though you can really punch some holes on the boots using a leather puncher, I think that would be very unwise and you could even ruin your boots.

Another way is just to let the waterproof coating wear off and the leather be exposed. Naked leather is porous and therefore will offer ventilation.

Also, getting a roomy boot and tying the laces loose so that the tongue of the boots gets way for ventilation are some practical ways to ventilate your work boots.

Of course, dealing with those sweaty feet isn’t an easy task and the long term effects of it are also not tolerable right?

So, I have come across some great hacks for you wherein you can allow air circulation within your boots:

1. Wear off the waterproof coating on the boots

The waterproof coating is usually some silicone spray or wax based coating thats used to seal the pores of the leather. You can wear it off with regular washing the boots with dishwash liquids or scraping the wax based coating with a plastic knife.

2. Get boots that have breathable holes on the uppers

Some boots are so designed that holes are already punched to form some pattern on the uppers (usually at the front end of the boots). These holes allow sufficient air circulation within the boots.

3. Choose the boots with breathable mesh lining or get one installed from a shoe maker
